Walk 175, September 18!

LAY DIRECTORS! Don't forget - you are responsible for ensuring that a Closing Packet for the Walk is submitted to Jan Williams for the Scrapbook records. This information is necessary for CCEC to maintain accurate historical data. You and the Agape Chairman should work together to get this done!!! There is no reason why this important task should not be done on a timely basis, i.e. as the Closing Packets are prepared on the last day of the Walk/Flight.

Get 'er done!!

ALSO - The Data Base Administrator is NOT being supplied with the Team and Pilgrim rosters as is supposed to happen. The LD and his/her Agape Chairman should coordinate and make sure that these lists are supplied to:

Scrapbook - Jan Williams
Data Base Administrator - Debbie Miller

Contact information can be found on this web site's Contact page. Please make a note of these items and see that they are done. If you are a past LD/Agape Chairman, make sure this was done - if not, do it!!

A good way to ensure this is done is to do it at the same time Closing Packets are prepared by Agape Team - hold them until the Walk is over, then mail them. Or contact the recipient and see if you can email the files as an attachment. Simply work it out then GET 'ER DONE!

Larry Searcy, BCBA Camp Director, and James Messimer, Director of Maintenance at BCBA (Lueders) are going on Walk 34 (Sweetwater Emmaus Community) at Camp Butman on September 9 - 12. Under their direction the BCBA has bent over backwards to serve the CCEC for our Walks and Chrysalis Flights. Let's try to respond by supporting them on their Walk at Candlelight and at Closing. (BCBA rules do not allow them to attend the BCBA Walks.)

The new Volunteer Data Base now has almost 40 CCEC members signed up. Lists will be prepared and handed out at the next Community Gathering for future Lay Directors and the Team Selection Committee. Please, Lay Directors, use this list when you are praying over your team members, or replacing a team member. Contact Dick McCallon for any other info - see Contacts web page or contact me at the Community Gathering.

The CCEC Board has directed that as of the November 2010 Walk, all Team member and Pilgrim/Caterpillar fees will be deposited as the fees are received, instead of the current practice of depositing fees at the conclusion of the Walk/Flight.

The CCEC Volunteer form for persons desiring to work as a team member on Walk to Emmaus or Chrysalis Weekends has been revised - click on Applications to the left. Please send all applications to Dick McCallon at the address specified on the new form. We are going to start a new file for volunteers and make it available to the Lay Directors and the Team Selection Committee members.

Sponsors! Please ensure your Pilgrim or Caterpillar signs up after the 6-month waiting period if they wish to serve as a team member. If you have never worked a Walk or Chrysalis, or if it has been a while and you wish to make sure you are considered again, please complete the form and get it to Dick McCallon at a Gathering, or mail to the form's address. We really want to make this effort succeed and all CCEC members can help us.
