There is a true story about a football team during off-season workouts - when they would become weary of the grind,
of the pain, sweat and what seemed like minimal gains from all of their efforts - and with no games in the near
future. At those times, there would often be thoughts of just quitting, it didn't seem worth it. During one
of those times, when it seemed likely that quitting the team was a real possibility for the quarterback, another player was heard to yell
out, "I'm still here". And from that time on, when times got rough again, some player would be heard to yell out "I'm still here."
Sometimes when we are discouraged, weary of the effort, the rewards seem distant - we are just worn down - perhaps
then we also need to stop and yell out defiantly
"I'm still here."
